Portal Builder

Configure the client portal, project visibility, forms, files, updates, invoices, action items, and CSAT.

Portal Builder

Portal Builder controls what customers can see and do in the client portal.

Open Settings > Portal Builder, or go to /settings/portal.

Portal Sections

Enable, disable, reorder, and relabel sections. You can also set a primary brand color.

Forms need the Forms plan feature. Sprints need 4DX Planning.

Visibility Rules

Only records intended for customer visibility should be shown in the portal. Drafts, internal-only notes, private files, and internal financial context should stay hidden unless explicitly configured for sharing.

Common Workflows

Configure Portal Layout

  1. Open Settings > Portal Builder.
  2. Enable the sections customers should see.
  3. Reorder sections and edit labels.
  4. Set the primary color.
  5. Save, then review the customer-facing portal before inviting contacts.

Invite a Customer

Invites are sent from the project, not from Portal Builder.

  1. Open the project.
  2. Confirm the customer contact and email.
  3. Send a portal invite. Expiry is 1 to 168 hours, default 72 hours.
  4. Confirm the customer has access only to the intended project data.

See Configure a Client Portal.

Collect CSAT

Request CSAT on a completed milestone. Clients rate 1 to 5 and can add a comment.
