Submit and Approve a Statement of Work or Contract
Route a Statement of Work or Contract through internal approval before it can be sent for signature.
Submit and Approve a Statement of Work or Contract
Both Statements of Work and Contracts go through the same internal-approval process before they can be sent to a client for signature.
Before You Start
Confirm that:
- The document is still in Draft status.
- Line items and terms are finalized. Content is locked once submitted.
- If your organization has configured a list of authorized approvers (Settings > SOW & Contracts), you know who's on it.
Steps
- Open the Statement of Work or Contract.
- Submit it for approval.
- If your organization has more than one configured approver, select who to submit it to. If exactly one is configured, they're selected automatically. If none are configured, it's open to anyone with approval permission.
- Add an optional note for the approver.
- The document moves to Internal Review and appears in Approvals.
After Submitting
The approver:
- Opens Approvals.
- Reviews the document.
- Approves or rejects it, with an optional comment.
Approved moves the document to Approved, ready to send for signature. Rejected returns the document to Draft for revision.
Troubleshooting
If you can't select yourself as approver:
- Check whether you're on the organization's configured approver list (Settings > SOW & Contracts).
- Ask an administrator to add you if you should be able to approve these.
If the document won't submit:
- Confirm it's still in Draft status. A document already in review or beyond can't be resubmitted.
